De-frost the Humanity Within You
Frost & Sullivan would like to introduce you to Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E, our CSR wing launched across our India offices. Our focus is on long-term initiatives that help improve our social well being in a sustainable manner. We have a team of Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E. volunteers who work on several initiatives to give back to society. Right through 2018, we actively engaged with multiple NGOs and other social institutions. We look forward to many more such volunteering efforts in 2019.
In today’s extremely competitive scenario, every individual is occupied with chasing targets and handling high-pressured jobs that we often forget there exists a world around us.
Can we as a company create a positive impact on society? We believe the answer is a yes, and that’s where Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E fits in. It also gives all employees a chance to contribute towards the betterment of society to make our lives more worthwhile.
In order to do our part, we established Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E in January 2018. Frost & Sullivan’s commitment to CSR is based on the principle that corporate success and social well being are interdependent. Our vision includes addressing significant challenges that exist in the realms of education, environment, economics, healthcare, human rights, infrastructure, and security.
Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E focuses on Women’s Empowerment, Healthcare, Environment, Education, and Animal Welfare. Our team works along with other NGOs for certain events and independently on most of our other initiatives. Some of our activities included caring for senior citizens, orphaned children, and abandoned animals, to name a few. Our team has generously contributed towards disaster relief measures during the Kerala floods and cyclone Gaja in 2018. We also engaged in initiatives that required continuous support: For instance, the monthly fund given to Lotus Blind Welfare Trust to help them address the hostel resident’s sanitary needs was widely appreciated.
Frost & Sullivan/Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E is also working with other NGOs to help identify and prioritize the needs of society. We have partnered with the following NGOs to support them on various noble causes. A few of our initiatives for the last year are listed below:
Life Again Foundation Winners Walkathon
Cancer is a leading cause of deaths worldwide. It often creates fear which stems from ignorance and misconception. Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E, working in association with the Life Again Foundation, volunteered and participated in the “Walk against Cancer” drive held on account of World Cancer Day (4th of February). We are proud to have walked for creating awareness on Cancer.
Old Age Home Visit
Our visit to Little Sisters of the Poor, an old age home was in April. About 40 volunteers along with their families took part in the activity. We conducted games like Tambola for the residents of the home. Some of the elders mesmerized us with their charming voices and sporting attitude. We were so engaged that we didn’t realize how the hours flew by and everyone who came for the visit was more than pleased. Frost & Sullivan employees also contributed provisions for an entire month for the Home.
Lotus Blind Welfare Trust
LOTUS was started in 2002 by 7 individuals who are visually challenged. They run a hostel for poor, visually-challenged pursuing higher studies in various city colleges. The residents of the hostel hail from poor families in small towns and villages of Tamil Nadu and other states. Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E supports by providing them with a monthly donation to help procure sanitary packs for the girls.
Blue Cross of India
Animal welfare is a human responsibility that includes consideration for all aspects of animal well-being, including proper housing, management, nutrition, disease prevention, and treatment. In our efforts to contribute to the cause, we zeroed in on The Blue Cross of India. This animal welfare charity based in Chennai, India houses more than 100 abandoned and rescued animals. Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E volunteers spent time with the animals and contributed to the upkeep of the shelter.
Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E (Mumbai) joined hands with SUADHA to organize a cancer screening camp for underprivileged women. Our volunteers were involved in the inauguration of the camp, helped the patients understand the screening process and about the importance of a Mammogram for detection of cancer. We lent a helping hand to the doctors in checking the patients’ blood pressure and pulse. Our volunteers were also educated on cancer awareness by Ms. Iva Athavia, Executive Director.
Kerala Flood Relief
Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E decided to lend a helping hand for the relief measures after Kerala’s disastrous floods in August. The company and employees came forward to donate both monetarily and in kind. We collected supplies such as food items, sanitary products, blankets etc., which was utilized for relief camps. Funds were transferred to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief fund setup by the State Government.
Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E (Kolkata) partnered with SMILE Foundation (an NGO working with underprivileged children and women) to organize a health camp for underprivileged kids at Kidz Planet Learning Centre. Nearly 150 children participated in this camp on nutrition, health and hygiene. Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E volunteers were involved in the overall coordination of the camp, interacting with the children, and assisting the doctors.
Children’s Day Celebration
15th Nov: Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E volunteers engaged with children of a local government school by organizing fun activities and games for them. The winners of a drawing competition held at the school earlier that day were awarded with gifts and chocolates by Frost & Sullivan. Everyone present during the visit – children, volunteers, and the teachers, enjoyed themselves and had a wonderful time watching the kids sing and dance. We were grateful for this opportunity to celebrate Children’s Day with these underprivileged children, and look forward to more opportunities to spread joy and happiness around us.
Visit to Orphanage
With Christmas round the corner, Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E along with its volunteers visited- Anaikum Karangal, an orphanage in Chennai, to make the children’s Christmas wishes come true. The children were an enthusiastic lot and multi talented. On behalf of the company, Frost & Sullivan sponsored school bags and stationery. Our employees generously sponsored a special meal for the children on the day of our visit and on Christmas day. We distributed gifts such as jute bags with chocolates and a few used toys/clothes. We spent some time singing carols, had a volunteer dress up as Santa to surprise the children, and served lunch to the children; a wonderful start to the festive season!
Association with Self4Society
Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E organized a workshop by Self4Society – a Government of India-initiated platform that enables employees to clock their volunteer hours and earn ‘Goodness points’. A Goodness point is a way to credit volunteers for their ground work on various CSR initiatives. We had the Self4Society team of Ms. Shivani, Mr. Saurav and Mr. Aruni visit all our offices across India to conduct workshops on how to use the app and share tips on how to be a part of the Leaderboard. Going forth, our Frost S.E.R.V.I.C.E volunteers can clock their volunteering hours and earn points using the app. We hope we inspire more people to join us and serve society in the future.
At Frost & Sullivan we believe that each one of us has incredible potential that can be leveraged to help build a better and more connected society.
