Applied Materials India in partnership with United Way of Bengaluru (UWBe) is involved in empowering farmer community for a year now and is working towards strengthening a Farmer Produce Organisation at Holur, Kolar District. This summer, farmers from 12 adopted villages in Kolar have grown several varieties of mangoes. To help bridge the gap between the farmers and the consumers through a structured ‘livelihood’ intervention program, Applied Materials has organized ‘Mango Mela’ at its office in Bengaluru. With this, the company employees can buy eight different varieties of mangoes directly from the farmers.
